Fight against cybercrime requires global co-operation, says Conroy

The Australian Government will promote global co-operation to fight cybercrime. The Communications Minister, Stephen Conroy, will support the issue at the OECD meeting on the future of the internet economy to be held in Seoul in mid-June 2008. An OECD briefing paper suggests the adoption of the Council of Europe's Convention on Cybercrime. In Australia, Conroy has launched a plain-English internet alert service to help small businesses and individuals without access to specialist support on cyber-safety.
