Position Available: Part time Website Designer/Programmer

Introduction:

Simple Net is seeking to engage a suitably skilled Web Designer/Programmer to conduct and assist with a wide range of clients and projects.

Background

Simple Net is a boutique website design and development company, specialising in e-commerce development. Simple Net consists of a small team of web designers and developers that service clients across Victoria.

 

Simple Net prides itself on having a good working relationship with its clients and believes that it is very important to the success of the clients web site; therefore Simple Net attempts to establish a working partnership, one that can only be positive to the development of our clients company and Simple Net.

 

The position of Support Web Designer/Programmer requires a high level of communication skills, support & resolution skills and strong website design/programming knowledge. The role is to support clients at all levels from domain name administration (DNS, web hosting, email support) to website design and programming issues and also to assist our Lead programmer with large scale design and development projects.

 

Key Selection Capabilities (KSCs)

The key selection criteria for evaluating responses are as follows:

 

1.    Desirable Qualifications - a relevant web design, web programming related qualification is desirable (3rd, 4th year and master students are encouraged to apply)

 

2.    Technical Skills – VERY HIGH demonstrated knowledge and skills using web programming and reporting languages such as:

  • ASP, VB6, Javascript, DHTML

  • ASP.NET, VB.NET

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • XML/XSLT/XPath

·         T-SQL and stored procedure for SQL Server.

·         Macromedia Dreamweaver

·         Adobe Photoshop

·         Adobe Illustrator

·         CSS Style sheets

·         Web server technologies

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please provide a rating of your skills (out of 10) to each of the technologies listed above.

 

3.    Planning & Organisational Skills – prepares in advance by planning (system architecture) a system or database before coding.

 

 

 

 

4.    Oral and Written Communication Skills – the interest and ability to adapt verbal communication approaches in order to ensure a full understanding and acceptance from other parties; the ability to analyse, document and interpret management and system user requirements.

 

5.    Self Starter – have a passion for the web industry, demonstrates initiative; sets ambitious but realistic goals and objectives and develops a strategy to achieve them; the capacity to work with a range of business personnel

 

6.    Client Orientation – Demonstrates a high level of commitment to the provision of service and getting results, through effectively defining client needs and requirements and collaboratively agreeing the process for the achievement

 

The engagement is for an initial period of up to 3 months, 10-20 hours per week (Casual or Part Time can be discussed).

 

The Support Web designer/programmer will be required to work from 288 Fitzroy Street, Brunswick Street, however on occasions may have to work on client sites.
