Online push leaves Harvey Norman cold

Harvey Norman chair Gerry Harvey has said the Australian electronics and furniture retailer will not make a significant investment in e-commerce for a number of years. Harvey expressed concerns about the profitability of e-commerce in Australia and noted there are cultural differences in the way Australians and people in the US and Europe, where an e-retailing boom is occurring, shop. Harvey said people do not wish to purchase the type of products it sells in Australia over the internet.
