Australia's answer to the massive Black Friday sales day in America is Click Frenzy, but will it work here? The organizers of Click Frenzy have received extensive coverage of the event and are promising over 1 million buyers on the day. The most important thing about this event really is not if it works or not but the attention it has provided for online shopping, it is now clear to us that Online Shopping is moving into Phase 2 in Australia and will see incredible growth over the next few years at least. The pure play online retailers have now become well established and although they may be concerned about the major retailers coming online this should be seen as a positive as it will definitely increase the online consumer base, create strong interest from the entire Australian community. The major retailers still have some way to go, but they are investing heavily and with that investment they will bring traditional in store shoppers online with them, all online retailers will benefit from this. Click Frenzy is just the beginning of the explosion of investment (rumor has it retailers had to pay up to $30,000 for top position on the Click Frenzy website) by the retailers on online shopping and we say keep it coming.
